Descriptions
We are seeking skilled and flexible cooks/chefs who can work on an ad hoc basis. The ideal candidates will have experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment and be able to adapt to various culinary tasks.
You will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to the event’s requirements, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and ensuring that food safety standards are upheld.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food of all types from a set menu ensuring the provision of well presented and nutritionally balanced meals taking into account the diets to meet medical, cultural and personal needs, work with company menu’s within the limitations of the budget.
- Carry out practical duties in relation to meal preparation using powered equipment where appropriate and undertake duties which involve manual handling of loads.
- Instruct and supervise co-workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food in the appropriate textures and volumes of the service user group and any related activities.
- Monitor and maintain hygiene practices, ensure full compliance of co-workers following the set company HACCP and IPC standards, meet legal requirements, to achieve and maintain 5 star hygiene ratings.
- Inspect the quantity and quality of received stock and mange appropriately stock rotation supplies, equipment and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards and policy.
- Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or similar setting
- Proficient in culinary techniques and food preparation
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and tools
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
- Understanding of food safety practices and regulations
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with kitchen staff
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Trainings and DBS in date
Preferred Qualifications:
- Chef: 1 year (preferred)
- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
- Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred)
