Descriptions
As a Senior Health Care Assistant (Medication Trained), you will play a key role in supporting residents and patients by delivering care that promotes dignity, choice, and respect.
You will be responsible for administering medication safely and accurately while ensuring compliance with care plans and relevant regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Administer medication in accordance with care plans, policies, and legal requirements.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and feeding residents.
- Monitor and record clients health, such as vital signs, fluid intake, and output.
- Supervise and support health care assistants and new staff members.
- Liaise with families and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of care provided and medication administered.
- Support with mobility and the use of mobility aids.
- Respond to emergencies in accordance with procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a care home or similar setting is desirable as Senior Health Care Assistant
- Ability to drive is advantageous
- Medication Administration training and certification.
- Enhanced DBS check
- Mandatory training including manual handling and first aid face to face in date
- Minimal IT knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of person-centered care and safeguarding principles.
Experience:
- providing care: 1 year (required)
- supervisory: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
- Medication certificate (required)
